“Like, Comment, Share?” – Say It With Your Plums!
You know the moment. You finish a post, hit publish, sit back, and then hover over those dreaded words:
“Don’t forget to like and comment!”
Ew. Cringe, right?
Why does asking for engagement feel like you’re begging for spare change on the internet?
Here’s the truth: everyone’s doing it.
And the ones who say they’re not? They’re definitely doing it somewhere in the captions or via a cheeky emoji pointing down to a comments section.
It’s time we get over the weird embarrassment around it. If you’re creating something—whether it’s content, a podcast, a product, a blog post like this one—you’re putting energy out into the world. There’s nothing wrong with asking people to give some back.
We’re not saying, “Please validate my existence.” We’re saying, “If you liked this, show some love so we know it’s working—and so more people actually see it.”
That’s how algorithms work. That’s how communities grow.
That’s how creators don’t burn out after posting into the void for six months straight.
So here’s your JBK Special permission slip:
JBK and NeuroTrip hereby allows ______________ to ask for the like. Ask for the comment. Ask for the share. Say it with confidence. Say it with emojis. Sing it if you have to:
“tap that like, drop a comment, and I'll love you eternally!”
If you believe in your content, don’t mince words in the outro.
Anyway…
