Who Do You Think You Are?

Imposter Syndrome Is a Sign You Give a Sh*t

Let’s get straight to the short and curly bits:
If you’re sitting there feeling like a fraud, wondering who you think you are giving advice, starting a platform, or putting yourself out there - welcome to the club. (remember when your Mum used to say "Who on earth do you think you are?!")

That feeling? It doesn’t mean you’re a fake.
It means you care.

What Is Imposter Syndrome Really?

Imposter syndrome happens when you’re doing something that matters.
You’ve stepped out of your comfort zone, it's a flight or fight response. You’ve decided to try. You’ve shown your work. And now your noggin is screaming:

  • “You don’t know enough ya daft wally.”

  • “You’re not ready, maybe in a month or two.”

  • “People will see through you, especially my mates.” (sidenote - I will write about unsupportive people in the real world later)

Fact is: you are saying this to yourself while embarking on something that 99% of people never even start.

The People Who Never Feel It?

The ones who don’t care.
The ones copying and pasting the same content for clout.
The ones chasing followers with no actual value to give.

They don’t get imposter syndrome — because they’re not even playing the same game.

Keep reminding yourself:

  • You’re not meant to have it all figured out on Week One Day One (if you do DM me).

  • You don’t need a degree in content to post a video, just an Idea and the willpower to do it.

  • You grow by doing, not waiting to feel “qualified.”

The only difference between you and someone 10 steps ahead is that they kept pushing through that black dog barking in the brain. That’s it. No secret formula. Just keep going, like a pair of new school shoes, it will pinch at the start.

Ways to push through:

  1. Say hello to the feeling – it's normal. Say it out loud in the mirror if you have to, maybe not on the bus though.

  2. Post the little bugger anyway – imperfect is real. Real connects, everyone loves a blooper.

  3. Look at your stuff, not someone else’s highlight reel, they've had more stinkers than hits!

  4. Little blocks before the big ones – focus on helping one person, your little corner, not impressing everyone.

To conclude my rambling

Imposter syndrome isn’t a nuclear level red flag to run away — it’s a the brain saying you are pushing your boundaries.
Pushing your boundaries is exactly what growth looks like, you can't learn to swim if you stay out of the water.

So keep going.
Even when it feels uncomfortable.
Especially when it feels uncomfortable. Those new school shoes will bed in eventually and you'll be running well fast in them. (I wish people still asked how fast I can run whenever I show them my new shoes)

You’re not an Imposter.
You’re just finally doing something that you really care about.

Peace out and keep swinging!
